“Wasteland with landowners has been identified and its extent also recorded. This land is available for planting trees. landowners also expressed to have tree species in that wasteland lying since many years. If that land is made green with fruiting, flowering and high-value timber-yielding species the land will be made green for a longer period.
It is eco – friendly, shelters birds and insects, honeybees etc. where biodiversity will be conserved. The main aim is to green the wasteland and make it productive economically, ecologically and environmentally.
Locally landowner will be supporting for planting and initial care. The major work of pitting, manuring, watering, and aftercare will be from the project. Later if gaps, that will be filled by repeating watering and planting with same-aged saplings. local fencing system will be followed with dried thorn plants or shrubs, so cattle damage will be restricted. Watering will be for three years with manures as the lands are not fertile.
It will be 532800 trees to regreen the lands
What types of trees will be planted? Dalbergia Latifolia, Tectona Grandis, Mangifera Indica, Pongamia Pinnata, Acacia Auriculiformis, Azadirachta Indica, Tamarindus Indica, Michelia Champaca, Dalbergia Sissoo, Emblica Officinalis, Autocarpus Hirsuta, Santalum Album, Moringa Olefere, etc.
1200 acres of waste land identified will be made green with evergreen, multipurpose, timber yielding, flowering, fruiting, medicinally important tree species. Their management and maintenance will be taken care with landowners partly and partly from the project such as watering, staking, weeding, fertigation, gap filling and silviculture operations.
Planting trees will be in the identified wasteland. 1200 acres of waste land has been identified and it will be made green. The detailed activities will be submitted. The organization will not support financially but some facilities will be provided such as minimum transport, vehicle but not fuel, driver, non-technical staff.”
