A Letter From Kenya
“Lately the demand for charcoal has gone up and thus the suppliers seek illegal deforestation to keep the trade running. Just yesterday I came back from the field with a friend that supplies drugs to government hospitals. We’ve been out for a week and some hospitals are in the middle of game parks and remote Masai areas.
Lots of illegal charcoal burning is taking place there. So my main aim is to start growing trees on my 6 acres of land and from this encourage people around to also plant trees. By doing so we can reduce on the destruction of forests and animal habitat which is in serious danger.
I have a few church members that can help me with the planting and also taking care of the trees. I unfortunately have no financial support from anyone.
3000 Eucalyptus trees will be planted.”
